Samurai's indigo dyed belts are produced in Himeji using 4mm thick Japanese domestic cowhides which have undergone a lengthy indigo hand dyeing process. This process results in a colorfast indigo with minimal transfer, which along with the brass buckle will patina nicely with time and wear.
